Middle and High School Dance Music List from 2012 Popular songs Prom Dance

As a mobile DJ for high school and middle school dances having the right playlist can, of course keep your crowd on the dance floor all night. As the main highlight of the night the DJ has to keep the students pumped and interested. Doing things to interact with your crowd and playing specific songs you know will have their hands in the air is what the party is all about. To maximize your night and keep the kids busy you need to have a series of fun dance songs, a group participation song, a slow dance and filler music that works well to keep the pace. A contest with a few small giveaways can also engage your audience. Students at the middle and high school level want a night club experience but aren't old enough to actually go out to one. Bringing that experience to them makes your reputation stand out as the person to call for making the party happen. Whether you're DJing a Prom, High School Dance, Middle School dance, homecoming or any other gathering make sure you conform the music to keep the flow all night long.                                                             Now keep in mind when you're playing music to any school crowd, try to mix it up. You don't want to play rap all night and you don't want to play pop all night. Mixing back and forth will keep all your guests happy. Most schools enjoy the club style music such as David Guetta, LMFAO, Flo Rida, etc. They also enjoy fist pumping, jumping up and down and doing a lot of interactive songs.Another great idea is incorporate some other styles of music such as country (if you have some country fans) possibly a couple of latin songs (salsa or merengue) and anything else that will appeal to a mixture of people. Always pay attention to your audience and if a song doesn't go over well than mix or fade out of it. Happy DJing and good luck on your next event.

If need more ideas, have comments or questions feel free to post them here.

Bar Mitzvah Bat Mitzvah ideas, party, music, theme

The after party for a Bar Mitzvah boy or Bat Mitzvah girl is always the highlight of the day and even year. Planning takes months of setting things up, practice, coordination and more. Just about everywhere we go to perform we see some kind of a theme. Whether it's a sports theme, cartoon theme, music theme, multi-colored theme, black light neon party or your own theme that nobody has come up with yet. There are some alternatives to spending loads of money on your Mitzvah. There's also great ideas I can give you to ensure your music is great, activities keep the guests happy and the overall flow of the party is just right.

You may have read what I'm about to tell you somewhere in a magazine, internet or heard from others. The top 3 things that your guests and even you, will remember at the Mitzvah. Third is the facility you have or had the event at, Second is the food that's served and first.....The entertainment. It's a fact. Studies have shown that guests will remember the outcome of your entertainment. Now how many times have you heard someone say, "The facility we had the party at was not very good." Not as many times as, "Well the DJ was pretty bad." Keep these things in mind when planning the top important pieces to your Mitzvah.

What can you do to make sure the party is a success, you have the right vendors and everything is just how you want it. First do your research on who's going to be your professional. Websites such as weddingwire.com decidio.com and just searching google or bing for reviews is a good start. You will know just from their bio, website and reviews if their too pushy, friendly or unreliable. Make sure your vendors have a general timeline of what is taking place so that they can coordinate between each other. For example; if the candle lighting is at 2pm and the photobooth is open from 1-3pm, make sure the DJ knows to make announcements periodically to get your photos done before the candle lighting. You wouldn't want people going to do that in the middle of the candle lighting. You can also have a schedule of when the food is served and activities begin. These basic timeline ideas help to keep everyone including your facility informed.

The reason why it's always good to spend a good portion of your budget on the entertainment and possibly party favors is this ensures that the kids have a blast and they stay busy. Having kids wandering around the room with bad music playing can be difficult. Kids also love, love, love the party props. We use them on a regular basis. Giant glasses, hats, party beads, glowsticks, silly bands, rings, inflatable instruments, flashy neon and light up stuff. All the stuff you can find on oriental trading or online party stores are budget friendly. The party stores are pretty over priced. Bottom line, kids love the party props and entertainment. So if the party geared towards kids than that's the way to be.

Next on the list is the music list. Now if your DJ specializes in barmitzvahs and batmitzvahs than you can mostly leave it up to them. But I would recommend at least giving them a small list of your most favorites. That way they can play gangnam style and the cha cha slide and not have to worry that it's not along the lines of what you want. Fill your entertainment in on what you would like to have so they don't get there and play Lil Wayne for 4 hours. Trust me it has happened and even some of the kids got extremely bored. Your DJ should know to incorporate 60 percent for the kids and 40 percent to the adults so everyone is happy. This is all information from performing at over a thousand mitzvahs. Make sure you go more on the entertainment and don't worry as much about the theme of the room. As your party props and giveaways, DJ and food can make your event amazing.

Great ideas father daughter mother son elementary school dances mobile dj

Elementary School father daughter and mother son dances are a great way to get families together and create bonding time with sons, daughters, moms and dads. It's also a great way to plan dances and incorporate the staff, students and parents. There are numerous themes and concepts you can have to make it enjoyable for the dance you are planning. Some schools have their mom son, dad daughter dances at country clubs or hotels, others are held in the cafeteria at their school. Whenever you have an elementary school dance for any age group attending, its great to have lots of activities to incorporate the guests.

Some ideas for planning these types of dances are to have different stations for the kids and adults. You can have a snow cone station, cotton candy station, ice cream station and many other fun snack type treats. As for games and activities you can have different stations with carnival games, painting and drawing, creating things, face painting, picture taking station and more. You can center your dance around the theme you are having; sock hop, decades theme, winter wonderland, Disney theme and much more.

As for hiring a DJ make sure your DJ has music that will relate to both ages. You want some fun new music for the younger crowd as well as some disco and 80s for the moms and rock n roll for the dads. A great contest to try with both age groups and moms, dads, kids, is Chubby Checker the twist. This is a good song for a twist type contest and you can crown the best twister. You can also do a freeze dance contest with either groups. Moms & sons, daddy and daughters will enjoy the freeze dance concept. You start and stop the music and look for anyone on the dance floor moving. You can always hand out some fun prizes for the winners.

Some other group dances are your standards such as the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid shuffle, hokey pokey, chicken dance and a few others. These are great to get groups of people on the dance floor. You can even pick pairs of guests to lead in these dances. It's also fun during daddy daughter dances to ask the dads to come up and participate in a rock contest. Find a classic song such as, Bob Seger - old time rock n roll and hand out some glasses and inflatable instruments to the dads. Give them about a minute to rock out and pick a couple winners. You can also have the moms or the dads participate in a hula hoop contest. You can even have pairs for the contest; mom & son, dad and daughter.

As for filler music to keep everyone happy in between the group dances and dinner some fun songs to play are, Miley Cyrus party in the usa and hoedown throw down. For dad's throw in some classic rock songs, ZZ Top, credence clearwater revival, bob seger or even to appeal to the moms or dads, kool and the gang celebration, james brown I feel good and fun dance music. Also incorporate some slow dances every 30-40 minutes throughout the elementary school dance. For daddy daughter you can use, Steven Curtis Cinderella, Bob Carlisle butterfly kisses, Temptations My girl. For moms and sons, Le Ann Womack I hope you dance, James Taylor how sweet it is, Beatles in my life, etc. These are just some ideas. Happy elementary school dance planning and feel free to add your comments and questions.

Mobile DJ and Club DJ Technologies Techniques & Business

The future of music and performances is rapidly changing. Anyone in the entertainment industry knows that in order to stay ahead or at least keep up in the game, they have to include new technologies into their company, business, or performance. Whats the best way to gain and keep your current customers? Offer great incentives to being a customer of yours! I will explain some great ways to continue to do what you enjoy but to keep up with the advancements of life and business.

People love easy ways to do things. Some keys to success are; convenience, affordability and customization. Offering customers and viewers options will create buyers. Nowadays package deals are the future. If you offer several products in one, their more likely to commit to a service. What is replacing your everyday standard dj or event lighting? L.E.D. lighting, or light emitting diode. L.E.D lighting is fantastic because it uses much less power, lasts for years and stays nice and cool for any performance. Are you tired of replacing those 120v light bulbs in your Vertigo? Well there's many LED versions now available that will allow you to spend money on other things besides equipment. Many mobile DJs offer LED lighting and sound system packages. In the past you would hire a DJ and the lighting would be an additional feature.

Another great feature that DJs, photographers, videographers, event planners and more offer their customers. Website and online planning systems. If you're a party planner, bride and groom or ordinary person, you can go on your vendors website and setup a music playlist, announcements requested, event details and a huge selection of different things. We have numerous customers who live in other cities and states who are having their event where our services are located and they can do everything in the comfort of their own home and we receive it instantly. There are many mobile DJs, photographers, etc who are still using the paper forms to send to their customers which can be tedious, plus uses a lot of paper. I don't know if you're into the environment or not but we have used 80% less paper then having to print everything and send it to our customers. Offering this online planning system has increased our business but hundreds of customers and saves the environment. Customers can also customize package deals for your services. Adding optional products such as extra microphones, lights, video, bubble and fog machines, etc. It doesn't matter what kind of planning business you are or entertainer, they have many online systems for the industry and for your customers. Everytime we tell our customers that we offer an online planning and music request section they just light up and are impressed with the idea.

As a DJ you may be stuck on either vinyl records or CDs. Using a laptop with a dj program is great if you need to load your music faster and offer more to your customers. And of course CDs and vinyl don't crash but having a backup is always the way to go. If you have considered converting to a laptop don't be scared. It is actually better than you think. The loading time of most songs are 5 seconds vs. 20 seconds to load a song from CD. Plus you can setup playlists for your music ahead of time and have as large of a hard drive to store your music as you need. If you need more help on what computers to buy, specs and more feel free to leave comments and questions here.

This is just a start to what is available with future technologies. Some of the things I've listed have actually sold my services without having to even push someone to buy. People like it easy and available at their finger tips. You can make it easier on yourself and your customers with a few added options. I will add more on technology for DJs, bands, photographers, videographers and party planners in the future. No pun intended and happy upgrading.

Feel free to post your comments and questions here.
