Some great ideas for getting the kids involved in the party / school dance are Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Cotton Eyed Joe, Gangnam Style, Limbo, (Limbo Rock and Hot Hot Hot great songs for that) Freeze Dance contest, play upbeat party songs and stop the music every 20-30 seconds, hula hoop contests, Chain link contest where 2 lines get a hula hoop and have to climb through the hula hoop until they get to the end and not break the chain link. A couple others are YMCA, Hokey Pokey and of course the Chicken Dance. Another good one for both kids and adults is to have a few prizes to hand out and do a twist contest.
